the many beards of santa

we found max in his bed, under the covers. at 6:15 pm. anytime a kid is voluntarily in his bed before bedtime is an occasion for further investigation.

me: are you going to sleep?

max: no, i'm just relaxing and thinking.

me: relaxing and thinking?

max: yeah. i'm thinking what santa looks like.

troy: does santa have a brown beard?

max: no, he has a white beard! a white beard on his shirt. and he has a white beard on his hat.
